about

Charles Edison originally from Essex in the UK but has been living in South London for the past two years, drawing on a lot of the city's wonderful history, art, and architecture for inspiration in his music. Charles Edison has been producing for around 10-12 years now, starting out with a pirated copy of FL Studio 3 and sticking with that set up until FL Studio 12 last year before switching to a Maschine Studio which is what he used for this project. He considers his sound to be fairly traditional, with influences like J Dilla, Kanye West, and Madlib as well as producers who blend samples and synthesizers so well like Flako and Jon Phonics and thinks those influences are really clear with this project in particular.

"Beats From The Seventh Floor is the second beat tape from South London producer; Charles Edison. Seamlessly blending samples from Soul, Gospel, Blues, and Jazz with synthesized flutters and melodic 808s to create a gritty soundscape of beats for all purposes. This EP features 5 personally selected tracks from Charles Edison's upcoming full length album coming soon."

Hope everyone enjoys.
